The Internet offers a wealth of information about eating disorders, nutrition, and health. Here are some sites you might like to try:

Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders of Northeastern New York: The Comprehensive Care Center creates a formal collaboration between Albany Medical Center, Four Winds Hospitals and Bellevue Woman's Hospital to ensure that patients with eating disorders receive quality care. The mission of the Comprehensive Care Center is to provide clinical support and guidance to those in Northeastern New York State who deal with the complex issues associated with eating disorders.

www.nationaleatingdisorders.org: This is the website of the National Eating Disorders Association. It offers treatment referrals, a media advocacy program, and links to other eating disorders associations. 

www.anad.org: The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders is the oldest advocacy group for persons with eating disorders and their families. The site offers services, resources, information about pending legislation, and links to other organizations.

www.eatingdisorderinfo.org: The Alliance for Eating Disorder Awareness provides educational information to parents and caregivers about the warning signs, dangers, and consequences of eating disorders. Their website includes hotline phone numbers and referrals for treatment. They also have uplifting success stories and recommended reading.

www.edreferral.com: The Eating Disorder Referral and Information Center gives referrals to eating disorder specialists, treatment facilities and support groups. Their website also includes a wealth of information on such topics as finding a therapist, helping loved ones, getting insurance coverage for treatment, pregnancy and eating disorders, and more.

www.eatright.org: This is the homepage for the American Dietetic Association. Once you are at the home page, click on the Health Lifestyle tab at the top of the page, then on Good Nutrition Reading List. Or, when on Nutrition Resources, click on Nutrition Fact Sheets, and you’ll find a number of concise information fact sheets, such as the calcium fact sheet. “Choose Calcium-Rich Foods for Strong Bones.”

www.something-fishy.org: Something Fishy is one of the original web sites dedicated to people with eating disorders. This site offers general information about eating disorders, including signs and symptoms, links to others in recovery, information about ongoing studies, chat rooms, and chats with guest experts, and many more features. 

www.bulimia.com: This is the website of Gurze Books, publishers of eating disorders books and journals and Eating Disorders Today. Gurze offers an online catalog of more that 200 titles of books and other resources, plus links to many other eating disorders sites including treatment facilities, organizations, and informational sites.
 

www.mirror-mirror.org: Mirror-Mirror is a tribute to individuals who are recovering from eating disorders. In addition to offering definitions, signs and symptoms, relapse warning signs, and much more, there is a “Survivor’s Wall” where visitors have written messages about their own recovery.

www.girlpower.gov/girlarea/bodywise/index.htm: This Body Wise site is part of Girl Power – the national public education campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of health and Human Services to help encourage and motivate 9 to 14 year-old girls to make the most of their lives.
